You’re in the right place
OptiLingo was founded in 2016 to help people who truly wanted to learn a new language but struggled and failed too many times to think it was possible.
For years, language learning “experts” have put eager students through outdated, ineffective methods. They treat language as a subject to study, not a tool to use. Those methods lead to failure, ruining people’s dreams of learning a new language. Worse of all, they give up believing it’s their fault.
Our mission is to breathe life into those dreams again.
OptiLingo empowers language-learners to reach fluency by showing them that they were never the problem. Their methods were.
The story behind Optilingo
Hi! I’m Jonty Yamisha, the founder of OptiLingo. I’ve been exactly where you are now. Uncertain. Frustrated. Tired of trying a new program only to put it down a few weeks (or even a few days later). I spent years trying to learn German. And after countless hours of studying and testing, I struggled to say a few sentences. So, I gave up.
Languages never seemed to click with me. But it wasn’t until my early 30s that I realized if I didn’t learn my native language, Circassian, I would never fully understand who I was or truly connect with my family.
Except, I believed I sucked at learning languages (I had the track record and the grades to prove it). But the stakes were high. I felt I didn’t have a choice, that it was something I had to do. Determined, I set off to teach myself this ancient, dying language.
There are a lot of bad ways to learn a language out there. Through my 10-year journey, I learned what they were and how to avoid them. And I discovered better ways. In the end, I was able to teach myself Circassian. Then German. Then Russian. Then many more…
My journey to fluency showed me that I was never bad at learning languages. I was simply using dated, ineffective methods. Methods many other language learning platforms still use. But once I discovered the right way to learn a language, fluency was inevitable.
I’m here now to lead you on a similar path. Passed self-doubt, frustration, and failure toward the path of least resistance to fluency in the language you’ve always dreamed of learning.
